Arrow of Light

Last night was the Blue and Gold banquet(the birthday celebration for scouts). They feed you dinner and hand-out awards to the boys.

Andrea and Bizzy enjoying the sloppy joes
Alex got his Arrow of light last night which is a big deal for cub scouts. It is the only badge that he will be able to wear on his boy scout uniform. He is now an 11 year old scout. He has had a lot of fun along the way making friends and learning some really great skills.

These fine people have been Alex's den leaders for the last year and he has really enjoyed their friendship. They have really gone above and beyond in working with the boys. As a single mom, there are many areas that I try hard but feel I fall short. I am grateful for good people like these guys who can have such a positive influence on my son! THANKS Chelsie, Sam and Allie!

Crafty girls!

Last week Andrea had a play date with her friend. I asked them what they wanted to do and the both said "CRAFTS!" so we went to the craft store. I told them that they could each pick a craft that they wanted to do. They were so excited. Here they are painting jewelry boxes.
This is Andrea's finished product. A heart box with polka dots!
They wanted to make foam crowns too. Seemed pretty easy so they got those too. Andrea and her friend had fun and I was impressed by how creative they were. Give the girls some glitter paint and pom-poms and look out!

A toothless wonder

Last night Bizzy and I were reading blogs together and we read my friends post about her daughter loosing her first tooth. The pictures she posted were not scary tear-filled ones, they were pictures of a supportive sister and proud smiles.(thanks Jess) after seeing those Bizzy decided it was time for her to do it! We call this picture the first the "Pre-pullout examination". Pulling a tooth out in our house is a big event. Everyone likes to be there and offer advice on how to do it best.
and.....it's out!
We made a comment at 7:18 on my friends blog and by 7:38 Bizzy had her tooth out! It only took her 20 minutes Good job Bizzy!

My Valentine

This year the kids and I went to lunch and a movie for Valentines day and all Alex could talk about was the "surprise" he had for me. He is such a good boy and likes to do special things for me on my birthday, Valentines and Mothers Day. It usually is something chocolate...I mean what girl doesn't like chocolate right?! Well this year, I have changed my eating habits and try to avoid chocolate. This is what I found when we got home from the movies.....He is so thoughtful, he brought me fruit and made a happy face on my bed! He is so sweet.

Salt Lake

Here are a few pictures of our recent trip to SLC. We like to ride TRAX to the library. SLC has the BEST library(it free!!) and we usually spend a couple of hours there. Alex and Andrea like to play the computers.

Here are Bizzy and Debbie in the attic reading Rapunzel

The kids at Temple Square....it was a COLD day!

Valentine Party

The school put on a Valentine Tea for the kids. They asked them to come dressed-up so this is what each of them picked out to wear. I had classes so I didn't get to go but they told me all about it. The school used this social as a way to teach the children manners. Alex has been crushing on this girl from his baseball team for the last year. She asked him if he would go to the tea with her! He was so excited. He told me that he pulled her chair out for her and took her plate to the garbage. What a gentleman!

So you think you can dance.....

Bizzy loves to dance. She is constantly twirling around the house showing me her "ballet skeels" so I finally was able to get her into dance. She LOVES it! Here are a couple pictures before her first class.

She was a little hesitant about the leg warmers but I told her that her Aunt Jean would love them! So Jean, she is wearing those leg warmers for you:-)

NOVA Graduation

NOVA is a program that is similar to the DARE program but teaches about more than just drugs. They learn about gangs, making choices, shoplifting and a few other things. Alex graduated from the program a couple weeks ago here are some pictures....
Alex and a few of his buddies excited for the ceremony.
A blurry picture of Alex shaking Detective Bird's hand. It was nice, the police chief and Mayor both showed up to talk to the kids.
Another blurry picture of Alex with his Graduation certificate! WAY TO GO ALEX!!!!!!

The move to the new house has been really fun for the girls. The neighbor that lives directly across the street from us is our good friend. She has helped me for the last 2 years with childcare so I could go to school. She has a daughter that is Bizzy's age and they are best friends.

The girls invited her over for a play date a few weeks ago and they had a dance party.
Here are the party girls posing for a picture!

Birthday fun!

I am trying to catch-up on my posts but will only post a couple of things each day. The girls got invited to a birthday party a few weeks ago at the fun center. It is like Chuck-E-Cheese minus the pizza, so they got tokens and played games. They had a GREAT time.
Here they are playing a VERY INTENSE game of Deal or No Deal. I think Andrea walked away with like 17 tickets(her first offer was 34 but she is like her mom and had to push it a little further!)

We're back!

I am glad to finally be able to post some pictures of what has been going on in our house. As I mentioned, Bizzy has her first loose tooth. Every time she wiggles it, she holds her head. She does that to prove that her tooth really is loose and she is not just wiggling her head. She cracks me up!

Still working on the computer problem:-(

There have been a lot of exciting things going on in our home but unfortunately my computer is down so I have been unable to post pictures. We have been to birthday parties, Bizzy started dance and a few other pretty exciting things. Keep on checking and as soon as I get my computer back from those Geek Squad guys, i will post pictures!!!!

For my kids

So I recently showed my kids the blog and they LOVED it! We have looked at all the posts several times and had some good laughs. I decided ...
